Farmers Market at the Hessel School House
Les Cheneaux Farmers & Artisans Market is offered every Sunday, from 10 am to 2 pm. The market is at the newly renovated Hessel School House Avery Arts & Nature Learning Center, which is easily accessed from M-134 or Cedar Road in Hessel. The historic Hessel School is at 3206 W. Cedar Road, just east of the blinking light in Hessel.
An ever-changing array of vendors are bringing fresh and preserved local and Michigan produce, local eggs, locally-raised meats, Lake Superior fish, gourmet baked goods, plus such items as artisan gifts and gadgets, fabric art and utility products such as bags, aprons and linens, Native American crafted birch bark frames and wood handicrafts, Lake Superior stones, toys, raw fiber and fiber art, and much, much more! These are just some of the items that have been seen at the market, and new vendors join each week.
Live music is sometimes featured during the market, and musicians are welcome to join the market and play for a few hours on Sunday – please e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. New vendors are always welcome – please call 906.322.7501 or 906.484.2369. There are no vendor fees for this market.
